Network Not Detected

Linksys / Wrt54g2

Specs: Windows XP
My desktop computer successfully connects to the Internet through the router. However, my daughter's computer will no longer connect by use of the Linksys compact wireless-G USB adapter. I don't think the adapter has failed because I have a PDA that also stopped picking up the network.

I've tried re-setting and unplugging the router. Based on some initial research I also changed the administrative settings to enable SSID broadcast. The wireless LED light is on.

Thanks for any suggestions -- I'm about ready to uninstall and reinstall the router.

If that's a linux based WRT54G or GL, then you could try a 3'd party firmware on it and see if that doesn't fix the issue. I prefer Tomato Firmware but there are more flavors available at the bottom of the page I linked.

Barring that, a reset to factory defaults and redoing the setup on the router may fix the issue.
