Hi!
Here is the situation. I am runing a network through a router and have about five computers running on it. All of them are running some form of WinXP on them. Not all of them have issues seeing or transfering files to one another.
Lately, it has been my laptop (Dell E1505). I go to workgroup, and it doesnt even show itself, muchless any other computers on the network. I used to be able to see myself and them in the workgroup, however, that function has disappeared.
To top it all off, my desktop is also doing this exact same thing, and I have no clue as to why.
My laptop is connected via WiFi, and my computer is hard wired. I have a Linksys WRT54G v3.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation?
Thanks!

update:
I found out what was wrong.
I checked properties under my NIC -> TCP/IP -> Advanced -> WINS tab and NetBIOS to enable.

Yeah, its me again.
The fix that I thought would work for my desktop turned out to be no good.
I have NetBIOS enabled, and everything seems as if it should work fine. There is one issue that I think may be the issue though. When I try to fix the connection, I get the error message when it is "Clearing NetBT".
I think this could very well be the issue that is keeping me from seeing other computers on the network.

Why not try giving all of them static IP addresses within the same network? Say 192.168.1.2...6, then set all gateways to 192.168.1.1, and give them the same DNS...
