Hello,
MY school network uses the windows 2003 server, and i do not know what the actual system is. There are around 160 client computers each are running windows xp with 1 gig RAM in each.
Well, lately the login has been very slow (15-60 min) per login. The accounts are restricted to basic access (no CMD, no registry editing, etc..) and the only difference is that each account is mapped to their own folder on the H: drive which is located on the main server.
MAinly the loading has been on the "loading personal profile..." screen, and then an extra 5 min. for "applying personal settings..." screen.
So i am wondering what i could do to help speed up the servers. I plan to go to the IT dood on monday with ideas on how to fix it, and i just need some sorta hints, or things i could try to do.

thanks in advance,
shdowfire92

Look at your nic properties and tcp/ip. Is the DNS entry listed that of the 2003 server? It should be assuming you only have one 2003 server and you are running Active Directory which by default means the 2003 is also running DNS.

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search
