ok I got a linksys router and 3 comps hooked up to it.
Two of the comps can share file/printing plus they can view each others shared folers and whatnot the whole sharing thing...
but the 3rd comp only gets access to the internet we can't play game or share files or access the network with his comp what do I do?

if computer 3 had windows xp service pack 2 on it, check to see if windows firewall is enabled. if so, it will 'hide' it from other computers.

Xp always takes forever to resolve other ip's on a lan (at least for me) The affected computer will get its ip and connect to the internet, but will take up to 5-10 minutes to find any shares on the network. Ensure that all the computers are using the same protocols and that all have the same settings.
On another note: I had a laptop with XP SP1 installed that had the same problem. Would not find any comp on the network. however, I could ping any of the computers, and map the pinged computers' shares. Didn't know what it was, so I just reinstalled XP. Maybe you have the same thing?
