NETWORK CONNECTION PROBLEM
I get the following error message;
"You have no access to "WorkGroup". You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The server list for this workgroup is not accessible at this moment."
I set up a 2 unit home net with a Linksys WRT54G Router, One PC wired to Port 1 and a Notebook conected via the wireless port. Both PC are Pentium and WXPPRO.
Wireless has MAC filter enabled and WPA Personal enabled.
Win XP Pro Firewall is disabled in both PC
I worked as ADMIN with proper password in both boxes. Full file security enabled.
Shared both C disks with proper local and share permits.
In registry both PCs have: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Lsa/"restrictanonimous"=0
I could see both PCs in "my network places" for a couple of days, with full and proper file sharing, and then both pc's dissapeared. Both PC's access internet properly.
The obnoxious message listed at the beginning began appearing when I click "Workgroup" in "my network places". I tried everything, including unsetting and re-setting file sharing for C disks. Nothing happens. ANY clue will be welcome

Try the following in both computers.
Go to Network Connections & open the Lan/Wireless Connection Properties/Authentication/ make sure you checkmark Enable IEEE 802.1 and for the EAP Type choose Protected EAP in the drop-down box.
Reboot might be needed.
Hope this HELPS!

Tank you, texasec2000.
I was able to setup IEEE 802.1 in the Desktop PC hardwired connection (the DESKTOP has no WI FI), but in the notebook it has an WPA Personal security scheme, which is the same I chose for the LinkSys router.
If I want to use IEEE 802.1x in the Notebook, I have to change the router and the notebook to WPA enterprise, and then the router does not show any IEEE 802 dialog. I'm going to try contacting liksys on this.
As the notebook is now, using WPA Pesonal, I can connect to the notebook or the desktop using their network names (\\Pentium and \\PcdeLidia) What I can not do is browse the local net ("MiCasa"), every time I do I get the same message and event ID 560 is logged in the security audit log of WXPPRO.
Furthermore, I restarted everything form zero: Re-configured the router with its setup program, enabled the net in both the desktop and the notebook with the net config wizzard, disbled the WXP firewall in both boxes (the net config wizzard enables it) and VOILA! everything worked fine! ... for 24 hours only, and then again the same bulls---. ???? I'm going to go crazy!!!
