Network Card properties not showing

OS: XP PRO
CPU/Ram: Amd 1800xp

xp pro,in control panel,double click on,network connections,in there i have my lan connection and my cable connection if i right click on either one and click on properties,the properties window does not show up.if i click on the left hand side on,change settings for this connection,nothing happens,does anyone know how to get it up.it seems as if its disabled.

Have you tried to DELETE the NIC in Device Mananger and then RE-BOOTIN??
