network card not being detected

Specs: Windows 7 home
my wireless network card will not connect to the Internet on my satellite laptop

the network center thinks that there is no network card

i ran my avast antivirus but uninstalled my Kapersky and AVG a few weeks ago (i had all three running)

i thought i got a virus

i'm running windows recovery disk now
tis a shame
i had the computer looking pretty

it is a Toshiba Satellite L455 with Windows 7 Home on it.

It slid off the bed sideways between the wall and bed and bumped the floor but was breaked and slowed by blankets, curtains and bed cover. Fell about 18 inches. It is a HUGE laptop (multimedia). I'm wiping the HDD now to reinstall OS. Maybe the network card was jarred loose when it fell, but it was working after it fell. After I reinstall the OS and drivers etc. I will know if it is the card or the software. I doubt the fall damaged the network card. It may have jarred it loose but it shouldn't have worked at all after the fall. ....
