When I try to install my network cards or update the network settings it asks for the Win98 CD and the driver disks, and then fails to find files, the machine is not online. Any ideas what's wrong?

Put the win98 cdrom in the retractable cup holder. Close the cupholder. Now try updating your network settings.
Note Cupholder=Cdrom drive.

I'm not a monkey sweetie. I had the Win98 Cd in the drive when the problem occurred. And the CD is fine. As is the drive. Now any ideas? Thanks for the reality check though, I should have included this info before.

Glad you've got a sense of humour lol. Has the drive letter designation for the CD changed since the initial install? You can use My Computer for a comparison.
This could be your problem. ie the network setup is looking in a different location.
You should be able to browse to your new cd win98 folder location.
Have'nt been callad sweatie for a long time.
Hope it works out

When installing new drivers or update drivers from a Win98 cd. You will need to specify exactly where the drivers are. Else he wont find them.
