Hi,
I'm studying IT atm and was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following question:
A client requires 10 OS’s for their new graphics design company computers. Select an operating system based on its Network Capabilities and Stability.Does anyone know the major differances between Windows, mac and linux regarding network capabilities?? Thanks

Uhhh...Lex, this is a huge question that's gonna get you a lot of answers by OS zealots, so keep that in mind! ;-) Don't let them fool you, though, they all have the same basic "networking capabilities" and all are relatively stable if configured properly.
We'll need more info before we're able to offer much:
What OS are you trying to choose, network or desktop? Linux is not really an option for the desktop OS in a graphics design company. Mac OS X is gaining ground in the server OS arena, but has a way to go.
Who will be maintaining it? There aren't too many Mac OS X and/or Linux server administrators in my area (Tampa, FL), so you may be stuck with Windows if that's all you can find for service reps.
What graphics software do they already have? No point in buying all new software because you changed OSes.
How often will they have to exchange files with clients, and what software does the client use? No point in being the only Linux graphics shop in town if everyone else is Mac or Windows. In this case, conformity is a good thing.
Let us know what you've got, and we'll be able to give more detail.
Good luck!
-Steve
