I have resently bought a vega notebook with SIS 900 network card. It works sometimes... sometimes it comes up with the error message, cable disconnected, when the maschine is booted. Only thing that helps is a reboot. Maybe two or tree reboots is required. It gets weirder... I have discovered that it will never accept that a cable is inserted if the cable is plugged in during the startup. It must be inserted after windowsXP is started and the icon - cable unplugged - has appeared. Then it has a 50/50 chance of detecting it when I insert the cable. Now I know it is NOT a hub/cable problem. I have been connected to four different networks with five or six different cables, and it is the same result each time. hope some1 can explain this weird thing to me. Can something be done about this or should I send it to be repaired?

You have a warranty: Use it. Take it back and ask them to fix it or give you a new one.
