I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. When I connect a network cable from the laptop to the router I get the message 'little or no connectivity'. When I click 'repair' I get message 'cannot renew IP address', What can I do to fix it?
You may have a crossover cable when you need a Patch. This may be overcome if the router has self-adjusting ports but they can only adjust by turning the router power off and back on. Cannot hurt to try. Turn off or disconnect router power. Turn off laptop. Turn on router. wait 1 minute. turn on laptop.
