I need to know how to install a network that share internet cable connection through D-Link 4port router/print server with 4ports hub....Can anyone show me how to do it!!!
1. IP: 192.168.0.1 for router?
2. TCP/IP installed???
3. Workgroup has to be the same?
4. PC name has to be different?
5. Use CAT5 cable for connection? That's all I know..but how do i actually connecting cable modem, router and configuration? Can anyone kind enough to show me how? Thankx a lot...

All computers - different name, same workgroup, install TCP/IP and set them to use DHCP.
Attach all computers to the router with straight through CAT5 patch cables. Power on the Router, then power on the pc's.
The router will get a DHCP address from your ISP, your computers will get a DHCP address from the router. The router will NAT/PAT all your Internet traffic. The computers should all see eachother.
Some caveats depend on the OS of the pc's, but that wasn't mentioned so save that for a later post.

You may have a problem sharing internet connection with 4 computers on a 4 port router. The internet connection from your ISP needs to hook to the WAN port of the router (usually with a crossover cable).
When you do this it usually disables one of your other ports. The router will come with clear but consise instructions. Just follow them and you should be fine.

nah, that's crap. A D-Link 4-port router will come with 4 LAN ports and a single WAN port. You also use a straight through cable, not a crossover.
Just don't follow Paul's instructions and you'll be fine.

Thankx to everyone..that was very informative...I've believe D-Link has a 1WAN/4LAN ports plus it can be share internet connection & act as print server?...
I think Joe Smith is right with this and I got it run smoothly....thanks to everyone!!!
