Comment:
I am having trouble networking 2 computers with crossover cable.
When i view workgroup computers on the main computer it shows both computers.
When I view workgroup computers on the other computer it tells me that I can't view the workgroup computers. I don't have permission.
When i try to add a network place from the 2nd computer it hangs up and I can't do anything with the other computer.
How can I check to see if the computers are really networked?

You can use the command line utilities ipconfig and ping.
open a command line (DOS) box. (Start->Run->cmd )
use ipconfig command to see the IP addresses assigned to the computers. Both must be in the same subnet, which only the last number of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx would be different.
then use the ping command to see if the computers are on the net.
ping ip_address_of_other_computer
WILL POST FOR FOOD.
