I am getting "Cable disconnected" and can't connect to my network via my Netgear wireless card.
I have an ethernet adapter on the PC as well which is working.
See below for my setup.
Basically PC 1 & 2 have wireless NICs.PC 2 also has an eth. adapter.
PC 2 & 3 are connected via eth. /thru 100mb switch.
ipconfig /all on PC 1 returns the ip.can ping that ip.192.168.0.2
ipconfig /all on PC2 shows the ip for the eth. card but cable disconnected for the wirelss card.
I can ping both ips on that machine.Cannot ping PC 1 via wireless card.
I can connect/ping PC 2 via eth. cable connection from a laptop.
The wireless card is enabled in Device manager.
I have tried:
Disabling the eth. card.
Reinstalling the netgear driver/removing card and replacing with 2nd netgear card.
Moved card to different slot.
I am trying to connect in adhoc mode.(Don't have an access point)
PC 2 is running Win2K server (SP 3) DNS / IIS 5.0 (I have a website on it and can connect to it over eth. connection)
The wireless card light on PC2 is going.
I have a common SSID name for both wireless machines.
No WEP enabled.
Signal is 100%All machines have static ip's and 255.255.255.0 subnet. No firewalls.
