NETGEAR wireless router not working properly

October 27, 2011 at 16:02:45
Specs: Windows Vista
"Clear" Modem > NETGEAR Wireless Router (CGD24G) > Desktop PC

All drivers are up to date and I have already pressed the reset to factory defaults button on the back of the router and have shut down and restarted everything.

I have confirmed that it is physically connected correctly however after browsing through a few forums I have figured out that my ipconfig/all is not displaying results that a properly working wireless connection would.

It shows that under my wireless connection the media state is disconnected and Connection-specific DNS suffix is blank. DHCP and Autoconfiguration are enabled.

The internet connection from the modem is working fine that is how I am posting this but the wireless connection is not.

Did you go into the router configuration using a wired connection and configure the wireless part. Check that he wireless is actually enabled and that that a compatible encryption method is configured.
