wondering if anyone can help me resolve my router issues.. netgear sure can't seem to help me.
it's a new-ish router, I got it in october of this year, it's gotten where, another computer on the network logs on, the internet "dies".. I have to reboot the router (usually only the router) and sometimes the modem as well.
this also happens if i use emule, all i have to do is reset the router and i'm good to go again

tonight, i tried to upgrade firmware (it's already got the newest, but the netgear tech wanted me to reload it).. no go, it won't reload, all i get is an error, page not found, and item contains no data...etc etc..
then, I couldn't get online for ages, I reset the router, unplugged it, replugged it in, reset the modem.. the whole 9 yards..
and going through the setup wizard.. anyways.. I finally got it back online.. now, I want to figure out what is Really wrong here.. do i have a defective router, or... some other issue

oh, btw the router is a wgu624..

I agree with wanderer...To me it sounds like a defective router. In my PERSONAL OPINION....and again that's just my opinion.....I would get a linksys router...in my opinion they are easier to use (setup) and have better tech support. Again this is just what I recommend and not what you have to do. Hope this helps.

I bought a WGT624 in December, less than one month ago. I am doing a RMA on it, the wireless will not work, it only works when I plug a LAN card into one of the ports. I called NETGEAR and got someone who could not speak english, so if that is the kind of support Netgear has they wont last in business long. I will be buying a Linksys the next time around.
