I am having the most awful time trying to get my brand new powerbook onto my netgear network. Now my router drops signal every few hours just like every netgear but I dont mind that as much as the fact that my Powerbook tells me that it is connected to the network but the network is not issuing ips so my computer cant utilize the internet, this is so frustrating. When I attempt to connect it will say "Connected to Network X" and below it, it just says getting status forever, and occasionally says "Not associated with any network, Status Not Avaliable" now I have no Idea how to get my netgear to start issuing IP's but ITS DRIVING ME NUTS! PLEASE HELP ME!

Perhaps a download and read of the netgear manual is in order? Are you using a wep key? If so you need to get the hash [letters and numbers] and manually enter that code in the laptops wireless security tab for its wireless Have you logged into the router to see if its enabled as a dhcp server and if there is sufficent range of addressess available?
