Comment:

We are using a Netgear MR814 802.11b wireless router to share our ADSL connection over 3 home computers (all Windows XP). Two of the computers (the host and a laptop) can access the internet perfectly, on the laptop, the connection is displayed as an Internet Gateway.

However, we have run the Home and Small Office Network Wizard many times on the third computer, with no result. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

the adsl modem is the host of the network.
set all clients to get 'dns' numbers automatically.

I suspect the above poster meant ip addresses and not dns addresses but this does not address the issue. Your router should be configured to be a dhcp server.

The mistake was running the network wizard. You need to Undo everything it did.

You did not specify if you are running a cable to this pc or going wirelessly.

follow these steps:
1. install the hardware [nic card driver or wireless card]
2. load msclient and tcp/ip protocol
3. set tcp/ip protocol to "optain ip address automatically"
4. reboot and see if you can connect

If wireless connection you have to make sure your wep key is correct on the 3rd pc. You may wish to start with no encryption until you have a good connection then tighten up your security.
