Hi guys. I'm trying to fix a problem for a mate. HE can access the Iternet using his PC which is directly connected to the Netgear Rangemax NExt Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router via an Ethernet cable.
But the wireless indicator on the front of the router is not lit, even though the checkbox within Wireless Settings is checked to enable the wireless radio.
Any suggestions for getting connected wirelessly?

He should leave it wired. Wireless is for times when no other solution is to be had. It opens your system unless you really know how to secure it.
They usually have a web based setup. Access that and turn on the wireless.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

I'm well aware of that. I went over there yesterday and had a look, and the indicator was still off, yet the checkbox for enabling wireless in the browser-based utility was checked, just as he described.

Going by the information you've given. Normally the wireless indicator only lights up when a wireless client is active. Are you trying to connect to this router wirelessly and not seeing it?
Assume that I already did an Internet search.

The last time I went over there he had a laptop with a PCMCIA card in it which he was using to connect, and it never picked up a signal from his router. We were unable to connect to it using either the software which came with his card, or with the one built-in to Windows.
I haven't been over there since then though. Will have to see how its going.
