Netgear Access Point problem

Netgear Wg602 wireless access point
July 5, 2010 at 01:24:17
Specs: Windows XP
Hello all,

I have tried to access the configuration screen
for "Netgear WG602 Access Point" but all my
attempts were unsuccessful. What I did is
connecting the access point to my PC through
ethernet cable then configuring my LAN as
follows:

IP Address: 192.168.0.226
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.227
Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.0.227

The default access at the bottom of the
access point device states it is
"192.168.0.227" . When I ping the default
gateway, I receive timeout message. I also
disabled my firewall but nothing worked.

What am I missing?. Please advise

Try a DOS command prompt on your main and check your settings with the command:

IPCONFIG /all

This might reveal an extra DNS you might be missing and will list a whole bunch of other stuff.
