netgear 311 to airport extream prob

Hi all... I'm trying to connect a dell with a netgear 311 pci card to an apple airport extream. The airport is connected to a switch, then router and cable modem. My pc finds the accesspoint and the net, connects fine but then nothing more. I do not get an IP unless i override settings and manually enter the subnet, ip and gateway... No internet, no pinging, no anything... What have I forgot?

hm, I don't really know if the comp connects to anything, it just shows that it has found the access point and connected to it, sorry for being inaccurate
