I am networking two linksys routers
one is a befsr81 and the other is a befsr41

The befsr81 is connected to the broadband modem via the wan link
I then have the befsr41 connected to a regular port on the back of the main router
connected via the uplink port on the second router
i have changed the ip address of the second router so that it does not match the main, and kept it within the same subnet
I have also turned off DHCP on the second router
Any cat5 cable i plug into the second router, the network connection comes back media disconnected on any machine.

Any troubleshooting would be helpful thanks

fixed problem, on befsr81 had to switch toggle switch in back to II mode straight through so second router will act as a switch

Thanks anyway
