need wireless help

i just recentli bought a wireless high speed adapter to try and tap in to my neighbors internet, its a netgear router thingy i dont know what kind of internet it is but when i finally got connected to it, i still could not surf the net. please help me

I doubt if you got a connection. Your adapter is just recognizing your neighbors router. Short answer, get your own connection.

yes it does have a connection because it says connected in my little shell thingy, plus i can go into thier documents and listen to some david bhurn but for some reason i cant go on the net plus i would get my own connection but i cant cuz im 16 and my white trash dad wont fork over the 15 bucks a month off his credit card damn

Reply #3: What is the output of ipconfig /all when you are connected to the neighbor's router? Maybe he doesn't have it connected to the Internet at all. Or maybe it's not set up for DHCP. Or maybe it's a honeypot. Or....who knows? Provide some details if you want help with this.

Er... does your neighbour know you are doing this? If he doesn't you really shouldn't be trawling around his private documents or even stealing his internet which he might have to pay usage costs on. Maybe you could talk to him and arrange some sort of deal where you pay half? I'm sure he'd help you set it up.
