Solved Need to hook up desktop to wi-fi

Specs: 2002 Windows XP Servuce Pack 3, Amdathlon 64x2 Dual Core
My grandson just got Acer desktop running 2002 Windows X. -how do I hook up to wireless wi-fi? What type of converter can I get to plug into the Acer to contact my wireless wi-fi? My other computers are all newer & are wi-fi connected.

Go to any computer store (Future Shop, Best Buy, Staples) and ask them for a "Wireless USB stick for your desktop". All you need to do once you get home is run the CD on that desktop and install all the software. The application should tell you at one point when to plug in the Wireless USB stick into your desktop and it will walk you through the setup.

Check out this wireless network setup tutorial, it will show you what you need to connect desktop to wireless network. You might skip wireless router setup part if it's been configured properly.
