Reply: (edit) You need to ask your administrator. The 10.30.x.x IP is an invalid internet address and used to safeguard computers in an internal LAN from being seen through the net. NAT or PAT is used to connect a node with such an address to the Net. Making any changes yourself may make internet access impossible.

Reply: (edit)10.0.0.0 is the private Class A network address....it's not routed over the internet....it has nothing to do with "not being seen from the internet" That is a reserved address for private use (thus the reasoning behind it not being routed across the internet) Your gateway address would likely be 10.30.10.1 (the local gateway from your subnet) Open a DOS window and type "ipconfig /all" and read the entries to find out what your gateway is

Reply: (edit)once again, techtony shows his inability to apply whatever random knowledge he has cobbled together to the real world...obviously, the gateway in this case is 10.30.0.1. zz, you cannot "be on 198.183.5.0-254 network" without physically moving your computer, or re-assigning netblocks on your network. Since neither of these are likely to happen, you should simply use 10.30.0.1 as your gateway address.
