I need to determine the IP address of a Flexwatch 3400 video server for a client. The server was setup and running. They had to disconnect it for other reasons. The person who set it up has left.

There are other settings setup in the server the client does not want to loose.

If I hook it up to a small hub and plug my laptop into the hub, how do I determine the video server's IP address?

Tony

You could download and run Angry IP Scanner. That will ping your IP range and return live connections, as well as resolve names.

And why can't you logon to the server, go to a cmd prompt and type ipconfig to get the ip address? No hub, scanner or whatever required.

Knowing the correct answer and giving a correct answer, are two different things

I was wondering the same thing , talk to the admin about logging in and getting the ip and mac of the server , if someone can't get into the server you have bigger problems .
