need help with wireless connection

Specs: Windows XP
i have two laptops, one is a dell latitiude 100L, the other a dell 620. both have wireless NIC, everything is enabled properly and working, however, i can connect my first laptop no problem it sees my wireless network and connects automatically, but the 620, sees my connection, but can't connect to it. it just times out. i can connect to other wireless connections just not to my Linksys WRTG54 router. i've pinged the router, and i get destination host unreachable. i've checked all the settings between the two laptops, and they are identical. i have the router set to hand out IP address' automatically with no limit to the number of connections, and the network is unsecured. DHCP is set up. i know the problem has to be with the router, because i can connect the 620 to other wireless signals, just not my own. please help!!

If you get the ping timing out, I think you haven't got an IP from your wireless router.
Have you already tried to use the Repair button in the Status window of your wireless nic?

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

yes i have, the connection itself works, but the router won't give me an IP. i've gone through all of the protocols. unplugging the router and the modem, waiting, plugging them back in etc. i can get a wireless connection to other routers ( my neighbors), just not my own. my other laptop works fine, no issues at all. it's very frustrating
