hello all, i need help here..
i have a network at home, both win ME comps, and i recently got cable so i need to share the internet access with my flatmate...at first it worked out fine, but the cable connection kept getting cut off, and then it totally wasnt working so i reinstalled win ME since i just formatted my c drive the day before.....and now no matter what i do i just cant share the cable...
b4 we got cable we had a network and my flatmate connects to the net using a modem and i could use his connection, and we could see each other under "my network places" or "network neighbourhood"
i checked around about how to set up internet connection sharing and read that the IPs were to be set as auto...
but if i did that, then we couldnt see each other on the network at all, and he still cant get access anyway =(sorry for this disorganised post, but my mind's really messed up right now...
i cant think straight...thanks very much for reading this..
and thanks for yer help too! in advance>=(

I have two ME computers sharing a "megabit" dsl connection from Qwest (their site says this wont work...) Im using two little freeware programs from cnet, one called Proksi which as its name implies acts as a proxy server, routing packets on the network. The second is called ICS config which allows you to edit your internet connection sharing, specify Dhcp service and stuff like that.
good luck.
