Hi,
I have a desktop computer with Broadband Internet Connection, and I want to set up a wireless network and share this internet connection with the laptop.
I have a PCMCIA slot WLAN network adaptor in the laptop and a USB WLAN network card in the desktop.
My problem is that after successfully installing the wireless network adaptors, I can connect with the computers, but none of the computers receive any data that the other had been sending. For example, when I go to network status, it says some bytes sent, but zero received.
I dont know what the newtork settings will be to share the internet connection.
Please provide step by step guide on how to successfully use it to share internet connection and also files and printers.
Thanks

You would need to purchase a Wireless router. Best buy or Circuit city has them. Set the router as a DHCP, set your comps to obtain an IP, follow the instructions for your router, settings are different for ADSL and Cable connections. Be sure to enable WEP on the router and disable your SSID broadcast. Linksys router would be the way to go. Easy to setup.
