I recently bought a WGR614 Netgear Wireless Router so that I can network the two computers in my house. The problem is I have had no luck or skill in trying to set the network up. I thought I knew what I was doing, but it's a little more complicated than I thought.
Can someone help me network my two pcs please?
The first pc with the main internet connection is an HP Pavilion with Windows Xp Home Edition with an Athlon XP 3100+ (2.2GHZ) and 448MB Ram and an onboard VIA Rhine Fast Ethernet Adapter, 1394 Net Adapter, and a Winpoet 5.0 internet connection.
The other computer is running on Windows 98SE, Athlon K6 (450MHZ), 64MB Ram, Netgear FA311 Fast Ethernet Adapter, and a Winpoet internet connection.
Please help! LOL

Along with your wireless router, you will have to install a wireless LAN card in each PC. You didn't mention anything about purchasing these in your post. Also, do you have a high-speed Internet connection at your home (e.g., DSL or cable)? If so, you will not have to "share" an Internet connection because the router will allow each PC to connect independently of the other.

No, I don't have the LAN cards and yes I have DSL. Do I need a certain type of wireless LAN card or are they all the same?
What I also need help with is, how do I set up both computers to share the internet connection, and the files and printer?

You should be able to use any brand name for the wireless network cards - I installed a LinkSys card in my daughter's PC, and it works fine, even though my wireless access point is D-Link. For help configuring your setup, check the manual for your wireless router - setup to the Internet should be pretty simple once you set up your ports using the router's configuration utility. You will probably run the network cable that came with your DSL modem to the WAN port on your wireless router. You will also want to check the setup instructions that will come with your wireless network cards to make sure they can get a signal from the router.
