I have started to get Generic svchost.exe errors. I have checked the Event viewer and it turns out to be the "netapi32.dll" that is causing the problem. There is alot of contradicting information on the cause of this problem. However I am think that it might be relate to a change in my connection to the internet and how it is done. I am on DSL and my modem was switched from router to bridge mode. This is when I started getting the problem. I have since switched back but am still having same problem. Modem Westell 6100.
In looking for information on the "netapi32.dll" it was suggested that a program named Firewall Leak Tester be run. Supposedly this program can close port and other items that cause this problem.
Sorry to say I have tried to read up on this but it is very confusing to me, so please try and keep it simple. Do you need and other information?? Using WinXp Sp2 No current patches in place.
