can anyone help me setup my network?
my host computer is a windows XP pro sp2 with 2 ethernet cards
1 for the broadband internet and the other for the lan connection
(for sharing the broadband through the network - i read this somewhere but i can't get it to work).the other 2 computers were both win98se each with an ethernet card.
i have an 8-port switch that i'm using.
the IP add of my host computer is 192.168.0.1
1st client 192.168.0.2
2nd client 192.168.0.3only both the win98se clients can see each other in the network neighborhood. but from my winxp host computer, i can ping both IPs of the clients but i can't see them in my network places. I am using the same workgroup but still i can't seem to find the solution to my problem.
I also wanted to share the internet connection to both the win98se clients.
i used the network setup disk from windows xp and install them in the win98se clients but to no avail also.please help me. I'm desperate

If you can use a 4-Port Cable/ DSL Router instead of switch (you have a variety of different makes and models of Cable/DSL Routers to choose from) you won't need the extra NIC to create a Peer to Peer Network and use Software Firewall (I prefer 3rd party Firewalls over WinXP Firewall) and Antivirus/spyware application for network security in each PC. Using WinXP's Network Setup Wizard you can create Home Network to do File and Printer sharing and at the same time access the Internet independently from each PC provided the ISP has DHCP server.(Most Broadband ISPs in North America).

The network disk made by the XP machine automatically turns on the XP firewall.
Turn that and Simple File Sharing off.

Load NetBEUI protocol on the XP machine.
