Comment:

I recently had a pretty bad virus infection.

After a good safe mode scan/removal with a couple of different tools.....the XP computer began asking for a

"Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.1.0600 disk"

when booting normally.

The virus is now removed and everything else works fine....I assume some of the VPN files had become infected.

Anyway...I am REALLY needing that Cisco VPN install disk...

Can it be downloaded from anywhere?

Thanks very much.

If it's for work, your IT office should have it, including the necessary profiles for connection.

I've got a pretty "on my own" type setup.

Only get in to the main office once every month or so.

Is it possible to download the client from anywhere? Am really needing it.

I think the system is trying to startup up, as usual...it's just missing a file after the virus scan.

Thanks

Yes...I was able to registrer.....got to the download page...and was even able to click the "Download" button.

But...after that...it jumped to a page which indicated that I did not have the correct type of "relationship" (or something like that) with Cisco to be allowed access to that particular download.

It was pretty frustrating.

Does anyone know if it is available anywhere else?

Thanks

RESOLVED

Folks...Thanks for the initial feedback.

Was able to contact the techs at the main office.

The VPN install files were available on a company FTP site.

Sorry...this is a password protected organizational site so I can't provide a link.

Evidently...this client software is fairly protected by Cisco....it isn't treated like a NIC driver or something.

However...any Cisco dealer should be able to sell you a copy for around $40.

If needed...Check CDW, they DO have it. Just make sure you are getting the RIGHT version.
