need advice on using ghost over network

I've used ghost many times on local pcs but never over a network. I'd like to use it on a small system with 5 computers connected via a 10/100 switch because 3 out of 5 don't have cd-rws. I've heard it can be extremely slow over a network. I have some idea how to make the bootdisks but it's very sketchy. They all use SMC EZ cards. Also, I need to use the enterprise version of ghost, right? Any guidance is appreciated.

Off the top I don't remember if ghost has those NIC drivers, but if you have them no problem, you just click ADD and put in the drivers of your choosing. Ghost 2001 or 2002 off the System Works CD will work just pick peer to peer network boot disk. And it's not that slow all depends on the switches you choose. Good luck. Post back if you have any other ?'s

You would need to use Gost Enterprise version. It runs under the Windows. The setup will install Ghost Server on the choosen machine. I don't remember if you need to assign IP's to each PC or not, it might not communicate via Netbeui. It doesn't work exactly like a standart Ghost(sector by sector). That's why the cloning process is extremly long plus network speed. You might end up cloning each computer separate. Cheers,
I contacted Symantec when I was having problems and was told to use 10M half duplex and ensure the media type on the generated boot disk matches the nic driver e.g. SIS900 needs to be UTP. once I genned boot disks with the right parameters, the transfer speed increased substantially. Al
