"basic tethered connection"

I would assume they mean a wired connection using tcp/ip on ethernet????

My guess would be the so goes the pay so goes the requirements. If the pay is low then don't expect it to be very hard. If they offer over $100K/yr then expect it to be some of the most difficult.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Tethered is a term I've never used or heard, but if they are referring to making a cable then know your color codes for both the A and B standards. It does kind of sound like they want you to be able make up a cable.

Don't be afraid to call them up and ask for a different/better/clearer description of what they mean by "tethered connection".

Tethered connections can refer to a connection between a cell phone and a laptop for broadband internet access.

I thought about the phone to device deal but I haven't seen them for a while.

It may be some industrial use still?
