My wireless internet is not working

January 6, 2014 at 17:35:01
Specs: Windows 7
The wireless internet is not working on my laptop at home. The router is displaying a blue light rather than the green light that I normally see. It has happened before and my son has fixed it but he is away and I am not very computer savvy. I think it is a simple thing to rectify. The power went out last night for a while but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Hoping you can help me.

Kind regards

Lea Jones

Try power cycling the router if you have not done so already - turn it off, wait about 10 seconds of more then power back on. Most home routers start backup and are online in about a minute.
The model of the router would be useful to know and your ISP ( at least the type of service, Cable / DSL. If you have cable, you may have to do the same with the cable modem but wait longer before powering it back on and do it before you power-cycle the router.

The grass may not be greener on the other side but it just might have less weeds...
