I contacted my ISP asking why my download speed went from 3MB to 600kbps, and he said that I should still have that speed, so I unplugged my router to find out it was the router that was capping my download speed. Is there a way to tweak it to allow full speed or do I have to get a new router? This Linksys routher is about four years old. Thanks.

set it back to factory defaults and reconfig at a simple level. See if that makes a difference. 4yrs is getting pretty old.

It is basically set at default levels now since I choose the automatic detection options. I am not a networking pro. Yeah it is old but when I view the stats of newer routers, the specifications are exactly the same as the old ones. Not sure what has changed in the newer models.
