My linksys (wrt54g) stops forwarding ports

hello I have a linksys wtr54g router and i am (was) running 2 servers on it from two different computers.one of them is a web server with little to no traffic and the other is garry's mod server. both worked well and as needed but occasionally the router will stop forwarding the ports for the servers (still has internet connection and signal) and when it stops the port forwarding i need to reset the router to restart the port forwarding again. any clue what to do what settings to fix or what will be a better router what wont do that?

I everything was working in the past, I would recommend to have a look at the routers logs.
Perhaps the router cut's the connection, because someone tried to hack your network.

I also recommend to check the logs in the event viewer of your servers.
Perhaps you'll find some hints there.
