when i host servers, i turn the dmz on, the last three digets on my ip adress i change to my same as my local ip adress but certain games like halo, it keeps changing, im running the linksys

TCP/IP on most clients defaults to "Assign IP Address Automatically" on connection to the DHCP server. If you WANT your PC in the DMZ zone you have to declare an IP Address or IP range to the router as in the DMZ and then manually set your PC's IP address to one of these. From then on every time you reboot or do an IPCONFIG/RENEW from the Command prompt you'll be assigned that address.

Note that putting your PC in the DMZ leaves it vulnerable to hackers. You might be better off only opening the specific network ports used by your game(s) in the DHCP server configuration.
