Specs: Windows XP
The other night we had a thunderstorm. It kicked me off the internet. Now, I can connect directly to my computer to my laptop (wired), but when I try and establish the connection between the Cable Modem and the will show a connection between my PC and my netgear WND3400, but not between the router and the cable modem. Also, the ethernet port on router does not light up when connected to modem....HELP!

You could try to reset router by pressing reset button for 30s while it's powered on, after that try to reconfigure it and see how it goes. If not, afraid that the router is faulty, you might need to get a new one.

Hope this helps.

Be careful with that reset button. You may need those settings and a reset usually deletes them. Better to unplug everything and then replug back.

As to the lights on the nic it could be that the settings have already been deleted by the storm. Usually you have to log on to each device if it has a ethernet connector and see each state and then rebuild. Remember that your devices may have been configured quite differently that stock. For example I reset my modem to act as a passthough and I let the router connect. A reset button would have me set that all back.
