Specs: Windows XP, Pentium 4 2.40GHz/512mb
Have a computer running windows xp. Whenever I plug in my internet cable it says 'Acquiring Network Address'. I have left it for over and hour but it still says the same thing. I have connected other computers to the router with the same cable and they work perfectly. I have also tried channging the linkspeed for the network connection, renewing my ip address, repairing the network connection and disabling and enabling the connection. I am stuck on this matter. Please help.

Maybe try to find updated network drivers for your computer. The name of your adapter will be shown under the connection name in "Network Connections" in Control Panel.

If updating the drivers doesn't fix the issue you could try uninstalling the interface in Device Manager and then rebooting and letting windows "find" the device and install it again. Then update the drivers once more and try again. If this doesn't fix the issue, you may have to replace the network interface.
