Hello everyone! :-D Alright... I got a D-Link DI-514 router, I want 7 computers connected to it, but it only has 4 slots! Will I be able to connect 4 computers to another router, and then connect that router to my D-Link? Thanks! ;-)
If I connect my microwave to my PC, will I be able to download food?

A router is s device for connecting two networks together, in this case the Internet and your LAN.
A switch is a device for connection multiple computers together to form a LAN.
Your router has a 4 port switch built into it. To connect more computer you take a cable from on of the output socket on the router and plug it into the up-link socket on the switch, thus daisy chaining the switches.
A switch and and hub do pretty much the same job, but a switch does it better.
There was a time when a switch would have been prohibitively expensive for a home network so a hub was used which were considerably cheaper. However these days the price differential is negligible so you might as well use a switch.
