this is not a comment to the topic, but a question to the same topic.
comment: i have two computers networking,
everything is setup fine.comment: in the future i plan to get more
equipment,such as,ras lan
modem,firewall,and a switch.
question: how do i setup my lan for multiple
users to dial in,and connect to
my resources?.question: if i have 50-200 remote users,is
it possible for all of them to
dial in on just one isdn line &
connect at the same time,on just
one isdn line?.question: will i need "Hunt Gruops" or will i need 200 hundred different lines?.
question: isn't this what the switch suppost
to do,which is to route callers to
the listening remote access server
(ras)?.

There are several ways to go about remote access. ISDN PRI lines can only support 23 voice-line callers at a time - to handle 200 simultaneous calls you will need nine lines which will probably cost you around $5000 per month. In a corporate environment you never see every RAS user connected at the same time - 30% to 50% usage is probably more realistic. If this is a gaming server the numbers will be higher.
A better way might be to use VPN - if most of your users already have Internet connections you could install a few T1s or DSLs and save a bunch of $$.
Your question about the switch - if you mean an ethernet switch, remember that at the point you are referring to they are still just phone calls, not network traffic. If you mean switch as in PBX then yes, that's one of the functions of a PBX.
