Hi,
need some help here.
I have a setup that i wanted to implement but don't know how. Below is the description of what i wanted to do, just wonder whether will this kind of setup works.I will be given 4 static IPs by my ISP. I have a broadband router and other components(like web cam, web server, etc)and each components will be assigned 1 IP. And all the components will connect to the broadband router.
My questions are :-
What kind of configuration should i make on the router in order to let ppl outside the net to be able to connect to those server??Also there will be other PCs that will also needed to connect to the internet to surf and check email, is there any better network configuration that can be implemented in this environment with some security?
Thanks

well, connecting all devices to the router would be the best security. however, to access resources, from the internet, that are behind the firewall at your house, you would need to enable port forewarding.
In order to do this you will want to setup static IP addresses on the router for each resoirce thet you are going to use from the internet. then find out what ports are used by each of these resources. then, depending on your router, goto virtual server or port forewarding. then map the ports on the router to the porper ports that are on your resources using the proper ip addresses that are statically assigned.
I hope this wants too confusing. reply back for further help.

Okie ... thanks ... let say if i have a device that is behind the router and i have a static IP that is assigned to that particular device. Am i able to ping to that device ??
for example : my router WAN IP is 192.168.0.1 and my device which is behind that router has a valid WAN static IP is 192.168.0.3, so if i want to ping to that device, will i be able to ping ?? does using port forwarding will sovle this problem ??As i believe that port forwarding and virtual server will be using private IP instead of public IP.
Thanks for your help
