Specs: Windows XP
What is the max size of the packet that can be transmitted, for the configured MTU. I am configuring the port with MTU 1400. If i send pac of size 1404, it is trnasmitted, however, if I try to send packets of size, more than this...I am unable to do so.... is this is a bug ????

Typically we leave the MTU size set to 1500. I wouldn't mess with the MTU settings.

Why are you trying to send bigger packets? Even if you managed to, the second it hit any other ethernet network (like the internet), the oversized packet would be dropped because it's the wrong size.

There's a ton of info on packets size and such available on the web. You might want to hit google and start doing some reading.
