hey people, i need some help if any can shed some light, been looking online and cant find the info im after.

basically ive used hotmail messenger for years and never had probs, up untill 2 days ago all was good on my home connection untill someone restored the router settings back to default, and now i cant log onto messenger or access any of msn's websites including web messenger.

ive tried loads of changes within the router settings to try and get it working, even disabling firewalls and allowing ports (ports i have to admit im not sure if i did it right) .. tried re-installing msn aswell, and even a later version, still nothing, starting to do my head in now as everything else works as normal.. just not messenger and its my main email program so i need it for business and family communication.

ive run a bunch of tests thru windows programs which dont help me much, but one of them said i had 3 different ports that were locked, that might be the problem ?

also, i get an error code from messenger while trying to sign in ( 80048820 ) .. and an extended error code ( 80048439 )

any help on the matter would be much appreciated, thanks.

EDIT : im fairly sure its something router side, as i cant log onto my msn thru other computers on the same network either and none of us has changed anything windows related.

Usually you have to put your Hotmail address and password on the router's homepage or you may not be able to log on.
