As of sometime yesterday, neither Firefox nor SeaMonkey can access the internet. I have DSL, to which this computer is connected through a hub and router. Internet Explorer can connect just fine. I have tried logging in as a different user and still have the same problem. It is definitely a problem with these two browsers. Any help would be appreciated.

See the network settings. They should be similar to IE internet options, connection, lan.

Thanks for the reply, jefro. Sorry for the extremely late response. I resolved the problem by uninstalling Firefox and SeaMonkey, restarting Windows and reinstalling Firefox and SeaMonkey. Everything seems fine now. On the good side, everything works. On the bad side, I've deprived myself of what probably would've been an interesting learning experience (albeit frustrating and head-ache inducing one). What I lost in knowledge, I gained in averting more computer-generated stress. Thanks again.

If you wish, you can use some programs as portable. See portableapps.com for versions of GPL programs that don't need to be "installed."

Thanks for the link. That's pretty handy. I discovered what caused my problem. I just installed the latest Firefox update last night (as I had just before my problem initially started) and now I can't connect to the internet again. I guess I could try to either run it as portable or do what I did last time. Thanks again, jefro.
