Modem ethernet light

August 13, 2011 at 11:08:18
Specs: Macintosh
The ethernet light on my modem (Ubee D3.0) continues to blink when the computer is in sleep mode, but goes out when the computer is shut down. Doesn't the blinking indicate there is still an internet connection? Can my machine be potentially accessed when in sleep mode? Is there any reason not to use sleep mode in reference to the ethernet blinking light?

Having it in sleep mode does not leave your PC any less protected than when you are using it normally.

Whatever security software is installed will still protect you when in sleep mode.
