mobile broadband speed

Specs: Windows XP
im a fan of mobile broadband because of not having a contract to sign
anyways i would like to no if there is some kind of software that will inprove my speed. base this on a 2mb mp3 can take upto 5 mins to download i have looked at google for days at a time and downloaded loads of so called speedups but all were s---. my download speed on a good day is 15kb sec and my dongal dont have a crc9 connector....

You may be able to speed up web browsing slightly by using one of the many browser accelerators available. However, there is really nothing you can do to speed up the downloading of files.

You'll find lots of tips on tweaking registry settings to improve speed, but realistically, the improvement you will see from these tweaks are generally unnoticeable, and you may actually make things work.

Signal quality is important, so positioning your computer in such a way as to get the strongest signal will help somewhat.

Its a case of you pays your money and you takes your choice.

If you are freeloading off publicly accessible hot spots then you will be sharing the available bandwidth with numerous other users and must expect you download speeds to be slow.
