Hey guys, was wondering if some of you computer wiz can give me some suggestions as to how to proceed with my problem.

I've been tryin to get dsl working on my computer for nearly a month, the main problem is that the connection is very unstable. Either it dials in and disconnects after a few minutes or the ADSL link light doesnt come on at all. I've tried everything people suggested such as

- Download Latest driver(i've tried every version)
- Check line stability(got phone company guy to check it)
- Reinstall WinXP Pro with SP1/2

I've borrowed a friends Laptop to test the line and it works fine. I'm thinking it might be something wrong with my USB, but all my other USB devices(tablet, printer, joystick) work perfectly fine. or maybe the motherboard?

If you know what the prob is or have an idea, please post them. My DSL subscription is about to run out, and i dont wanna sign up for another month if it doesnt work.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Computer Specs: AMD AthlonXP 1.6, Gigabyte Triton MB, 768mb DDR, WinXP pro.

If the ADSL link light doesn't come on and assuming you USB is working fine and the line check is good, then the only thing left is the modem.

All the modem needs from the USB to light the ADSL Link light is power. Try it without any other USB devices connected. Each Root Hub supplies 500mA. Most USB modems require 500mA. If that works, try plugging the joystick into the same Hub. If it drops the ADSL then there is your answer.
